Rodger misses out on final at World Championships
Seb Rodger ran his second fastest time ever but it was not enough to reach the final of the 400m hurdles at the World Championships in Moscow.
Rodger, from Eastbourne, came sixth in his semi-final in 49.32sec in a high-class race won by Jehue Gordon in 48.10sec.
The 22-year-old from Eastbourne hit the third hurdle forcefully but kept his composure to finish strongly down the final straight.
Rodger said: "I'm pleased with that. I tried my best against some of the top boys in the world.
"I keep hitting that same hurdle, I don't know why. I'm on a steep learning curve in the event and it's been a great experience coming here."
