Barker: Crawley must cut out the mistakes
Boss Richie Barker blamed basic defensive mistakes as Crawley suffered their first defeat of the season in League One.
Mat Sadler had given Reds the lead against Rotherham but the visitors fought back to win through goals from Kieran Agard and David Worrall.
Crawley have now conceded 11 goals in four games this season and Barker admits they must tighten up.
Barker said: "Mistakes are costing us. I felt at 1-1 with 15 minutes to go the game was fizzling out but then we don't deal with a ball into the box.
"We need to look at it as we can't be scoring three goals week in week out to win football matches.
"Very few times we have been carved open. They had a couple of chances in the first half but the problem for us is that we are making mistakes."
Evans said: "I fancied us to win today. When Steve Evans comes to the Broadfield Stadium he normally wins.
"If we had scored in the first 20 minutes we might have helped our goal difference. In the second half we showed our quality and we were by far the better side. On another day we would have run out very comfortable winners."
