Veteran midfielder Dannie Bulman is on course to earn a new deal at Crawley.

Bulman is out of contract at the end of the season, when he will be 35, but boss Richie Barker is keen to keep him at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Bulman, pictured, is in his seventh year with Reds and has made a total of 268 appearances for the club, including featuring in 13 of Crawley’s 14 games this season.

Barker said: “Like a fine wine I think Dannie gets better with age. He has been excellent and it amazes me that week in week out he gets overlooked for the man of the match award.

“He does so many things but people who aren’t really studying the game don’t maybe recognise what he does. He’s a fantastic person to have around the place and I can see him being here for a while.

“I’ve said to Dannie that I will have a chat with him at Christmas and I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t be offered a new contract. He needs to keep doing what he is doing but looking at him he is probably enjoying his football more than he has ever enjoyed it.”
