Orlandi playing catch up for Albion after operation

The Argus: Andrea Orlandi on the comeback trail at Bournemouth Andrea Orlandi on the comeback trail at Bournemouth

Andrea Orlandi admits he is playing catch-up after his knee operation But Albion’s playmaking midfielder is delighted to be back.

Orlandi enjoyed his first action in three months as he came off the bench in the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.

He is confident his injury woes are behind him but concedes he is not yet up to full speed.

Orlandi said: “I have to do extra work after training to get my fitness back.

“It is really hard. It has been a long time.

“The guys have been playing and they are at a different pace at the moment.

“I’m kind of chasing them but I’m nearly there.

“I just need to keep working hard and, if I get a chance to play, take advantage of it.”

Stop making excuses Andrea dear, you aren't a team player, just a show boater, take a good long rest and only come back if you're going to make an effort. Not too much to ask is it?

A surprising amount of long balls played on Saturday. Very few came off, but at leastwe are not getting caught in possession near our own box so often.

At this level we can't afford 'luxury' players who aren't up for getting involved in the physical side of the game. He needs to put in a shift instead of just waiting for others to do it for him, this is my issue with him, doing all the pretty stuff is not much good when you're losing away from home and up against 6 foot lumps who'll splat everything in their path. Work hard to get the ball, then try a trick or two, otherwise it's like having an empty shirt out there.

I watched it on TV and it looked like the sun caused problems for Bournemouth in the first half, which might be why the ball was up in the air more. Also Bournemouth played well and closed our players down quickly. I was relieved we came away with a point in the end.

I am hoping that the match against Barnsley will give us a chance to play some stylish football, not quite so many lofted balls. The ball over the top is a good weapon to have but I think we over used it against Bournemouth. Our passing game didn't look good on Saturday and we need to get it back.

Our midfield has chipped in with some important goals but I can't remember when our back four last buried one form a corner or free kick. Greer and Upson win a lot of defensive headers, they know how to defend a set piece, but at the other end of the park they are just not productive enough, I wonder if the same is happening in training.

Every post takes a dig at the club on one level or another, and this will continue. There is a chance that he is a fan of another club but my guess is that he comes from Brighton, probably did attend matches in years gone by, and today he has lost interest, all he wants today is some sort of recognition for himself.

With respect I am not sure if Going to Gillingham is a fair test of loyalty to the club, no more than going to Withdean is There would have been many, for various reasons, that just couldn't make that trip. More power to those that but I can't put down those that didn't/couldn't.
Our club today has a lot of new fans, some that have only ever seen Brighton play at the Amex and have never gone to an away match, but that's ok. My support goes back to the late 60's, earlier if you count when I was a child, the new fans of today will look back on today as I look back on my yesteryears.
The club of today relies on the fans of today, and the fans of today owe a debt to the fans of yesterday, along with others. I think that debt is paid every time we put over 10,000 in the Amex.

The important thing is that they attend today and we hope will attend tomorrow.

The club of today relies on the fans of today, and the fans of today owe a debt to the fans of yesterday, along with others. I think that debt is paid every time we put over 10,000 in the Amex. The important thing is that they attend today and we hope will attend tomorrow.[/p][/quote]Okay i take your point, but these so called fans have no respect for their elders and betters. There should be pictures of you and me placed around the Amex. theringtoneyears

Oh I think he is very clever, he is having so much fun at the real fans expense.
Every post takes a dig at the club on one level or another, and this will continue. There is a chance that he is a fan of another club but my guess is that he comes from Brighton, probably did attend matches in years gone by, and today he has lost interest, all he wants today is some sort of recognition for himself.
Spot on Vegas, for once.

Just another disillusioned fan like myself.

How many of you new fans that fill the Amex actually went to Gillingham?
With respect I am not sure if Going to Gillingham is a fair test of loyalty to the club, no more than going to Withdean is There would have been many, for various reasons, that just couldn't make that trip. More power to those that but I can't put down those that didn't/couldn't.
Our club today has a lot of new fans, some that have only ever seen Brighton play at the Amex and have never gone to an away match, but that's ok. My support goes back to the late 60's, earlier if you count when I was a child, the new fans of today will look back on today as I look back on my yesteryears.
