Andrea Orlandi has been handed a chance to prove he is fit for action against the leaders.

The playmaking midfielder will be assessed at training today after a false start to his comeback from knee surgery.

He stands a great chance of making the squad to face Leicester City, who top the division on goal difference, if he comes through the session well.

Orlandi came off the bench at Bournemouth last Saturday, then missed Tuesday night’s defeat by Barnsley due to swelling but trained on Wednesday without problems.

Head coach Oscar Garcia will also check on striker Leo Ulloa, who is nearing a return to action after recovering from a fractured metatarsal. Oscar last night told The Argus: “We won’t know until training (this morning) if one or the other can come back into the 18.

“Andrea took a knock and his knee was swollen on Tuesday, he wasn’t 100%. We hope it is nothing serious.

“If the knee is normal, if he works normally, then he has got a chance of being in the squad.

“Leo started training with us at the start of the week but not the whole session so we will see how he is (this morning) as well.

“But I really don’t know yet about him.”

Oscar admits Albion will have to beware a rapid Leicester attack including Jamie Vardy, David Nugent and Lloyd Dyer.

He said: “They are leaders, up until now they have been the best team as the numbers show.

“They are fast up front and a good counter-attacking team.”
