Buckley set to start for Albion

The Argus: Will Buckley in action against Barnsley Will Buckley in action against Barnsley

Will Buckley is in line for his first start for five weeks for Albion against table-topping Leicester today.

The right-winger made an impact after returning from hamstring trouble as a half-time substitute in Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat by Barnsley.

The Seagulls have been starved of explosive pace in attacking areas, with Buckley and left-winger Kazenga LuaLua sidelined simultaneously.

Head coach Oscar Garcia said: “If we have no pace up front then other teams can play against us in a different way and we want to have different options to play.”

LuaLua, out since early October due to a knee operation, has returned to training but is likely to be eased back into contention. Albion’s left-wing options will be reduced once Craig Conway ends his spell on loan from Cardiff.

Conway makes his farewell home appearance today. The Scottish international's stint on the South Coast expires with next Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough.

Great to see Buckley back... Even when he wasn't in form he still gave the oppositions defence something to think about simply by having the pace he has.

I'm also hopeful that Kemy will get a start today in place of JFC. I personally thought that Kemys influence on Tuesday nights game was greater than Buckleys. They both changed the game though.

A final thought goes out to Conway. I know opinion is split on this guy but for me he has been an asset.
He has played in a threadbare team and still made an impact... On Tuesday he looked fantastic when we got a head of steam up and I wouldn't mind betting that he would really flourish when playing with our main guys week in week out.

Looking forward to today's game

I just hope he looks after his hamstrings today. It's cold and if he doesn't warm up and stretch correctly........Whe
n my long throw specialist tore his Brachioradialis it took away 90% of our attacking options, so be warned.

Agree entirely with your comments. I like Conway's attitude and effort (in the same way that I like Calderon) These are the type of player that this club needs and I will be sorry if this is his last appearance. I think Oscar needs to deliver today on team selection.

Good morning Tug - SMF20, care to offer how you would like to see the team line up today, just the starting eleven, the subs will sort themselves out.

Wiseman, what eleven would you have start today?
