Albion have been told they were gifted two “soft” goals at The Amex yesterday.

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson reckons poor defending by his side played a part in the Seagulls’ 3-1 win.

Pearson said the hosts played well. But he felt they were assisted by some below-par work by his side as David Lopez set up strikes for Ashley Barnes and Craig Conway.

He said: “They were soft goals again. We conceded a couple of poor ones in midweek (when losing at Sheffield Wednesday) and the first two we conceded here gave us an awful lot to do.

“The first one in particular is not good.

“We had our moments in the first half but I don’t think we showed the desire to make things happen.

“Against a good side, you don’t want to be giving them a two-goal start.”
