Next Gazza knocks out Seagulls

Albion under-18s were undone by a player described as the next Paul Gascoigne as their FA Youth Cup dreams came to an end last night.

George Green scored twice in the second half as the Seagulls went down 2-0 against Everton in a third round tie at Goodison Park.

Everton paid Bradford City £2million to win the race to sign the midfielder from under the noses of Liverpool and Tottenham as a 15-year-old in 2011.

His quality proved the difference between the two sides last night as Green, 17, fired Everton ahead on the hour following an even first half. The England under-18 international wrapped up victory for the Toffees from the penalty spot with 15 minutes to go after the referee spotted a handball in the area.

Only a couple of fine saves from Christian Walton – who was on the bench for Albion’s senior team on Saturday – prevented Green completing his hat-trick late in the game.

Charlie Harris had Albion’s best chance in the first half when his drive from the edge of the area was pushed away by Russell Griffiths.

Meanwhile, Albion’s FA Cup third round tie at home to Reading will be played on

Will be played on a cold January winters day with nothing to warm the fans up but a tea and a legendary Seagulls pie. Albion will be looking to extend their unbeaten run since the Leicester game and have turned down the offers for Ulloa, Ince and Bridders. Conway has signed a 1 year contract and Ulloa is already in double figures since his first match second half appearance at Middlesborough......
..
I think my ending to the Argus mistake is good; I did not want to mention anything about position in the league cos if all the rest happens I will be extremely happy.

Watched the game on Youtube and thought it was pretty even really. One of their players looked like Ross Barkely but obviously wasn't. They have got some really good youngsters but it looks like we have as well!
