Matthew Upson launched a huge weekend in his life with his winner at Middlesbrough.
Assistant head coach Nathan Jones revealed after the game that the former England defender is getting married tomorrow.
Upson finished the game in a bandage following a cut to his head.
Jones hailed his overall performance and that of centre-back partner Adam El-Abd.
He said: “The two of them were fantastic. They were stalwarts at the back.
“Credit to Adam El-Abd, last week he came in at short notice, he hasn’t played a lot of football, he works hard and keeps himself in such a way that when he is called upon he is always ready. He did fantastically well today.
“Matty Upson has been Matty Upson for 16, 17 years now. We know what we are getting with Matty.
“A clean sheet here with the potency and threats Middlesbrough have got is a very good clean sheet.
“Matty is getting married tomorrow so those photos might need to be photoshopped (due to his cut)!”
