Ulloa happy to be back in the goals for Albion

The Argus: Leo Ulloa in action at Charlton Leo Ulloa in action at Charlton

Leo Ulloa is delighted to be back on the goal trail.

But Albion’s striker reckons the fact he played 90 minutes after returning from a fractured metatarsal was his real Boxing Day bonus.

The Seagulls went home pointless despite Argentinian Ulloa’s two goals on his first start in almost three months.

Ulloa said: “I’m happy to get the goals, but sad that we lost the match.

“But playing the 90 minutes with no discomfort was the most important thing for me.

“I feel like I’m still lacking something in terms of physical fitness.

“But I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort from the injury.”

Ulloa felt Albion, who lost 3-2, could have got something from the game.

He added: “We weren’t bad but they, without doing much more than we did, won the match.

“The problem now is that we play again in three days at Blackpool.

“Recovery over these days will be very important.”

Good to see Ulloa back in the side and playing a full 90 minutes. Scoring 2 goals on your return so how important he is to the squad. Take note Barnes!! Cannot question Barnes effort, always 100%, but we have a real goalscorer back!! UTA.

Agree Ulloa back is fantastic, and in scoring mode. It seems we do well against the better sides & can't put games to bed against the lower ones. Are we showing them to much respect? Feel we need another decent defender our struggle to deal with clearing our box is costing us dearly.

Congratulations to Gus and the black cats. With Leo and Liam on board from January, you will climb the table. Only a joke guys, don't get too uptight. But it may be true.....

Is it true that Ulloa is going to Sunderland in January for £5million?
Or the other big rumour that Gus is going to make a double swoop - for Ulloa and Bridcutt - could net the Albion £8 million?

Being a relatively recent, albeit fragile, convert to the Barnes fan club, could we please see Barnes alongside Ulloa at Blackpool to give him some support to continue his new goal run - and aided by LuaLua at least until Conway is brought back.
