Albion will be without Will Buckley for a month after he suffered a bad hamstring tear in Sunday's 1-0 win at Blackpool.
The winger was forced off in the closing stages of the match at Bloomfield Road.
Club doctor Helge Riepenhof revealed: "Will has suffered a bad tear to the hamstring which will take time to recover. He's likely to be out for around four weeks."
Riepenhof has also revealed that Stephen Ward was sick on the pitch following an early knock to the head before he was substituted just before half-time.
And the Seagulls' German medic expects striker Craig Mackail-Smith, out since March with a ruptured Achilles and ankle trouble, to return before the end of January.
