Nathan Jones has today explained why the third round of the FA Cup still holds a special place in the football calendar.

The knockout competition's status in the modern game is a point of debate again after Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert said some Premier League clubs could do without it.

But Albion's assistant head coach insists third round day "still holds a bit of magic" as his side prepare to host Reading tomorrow.
