Sussex non-league league is bracing itself for another washout.

Bognor’s home game against Lowestoft was the last to go after failing a 7pm pitch inspection at Nyewood Lane last night.

Crawley Down’s game at home to Three Bridges and Worthing’s visit to Hythe Town were postponed yesterday afternoon.

A number of County League games were also called off following early pitch checks.

Inspections will be carried out at all grounds this morning when many games are expected to become victims of the weather.

Whitehawk’s Conference south trip to Havant and Waterlooville is subject to a 10.30am inspection and there will also be pitch check ahead of Eastbourne Borough’s game with Eastleigh.

In the Ryman League, Lewes’ game at Canvey Island will be decided at 9am and there will be 9.30am inspections for Burgess Hill against Tooting and Mitcham, Corinthian-Casuals versus Eastbourne Town and Peacehaven at home to Leatherhead.

Horsham will hold a 10.15am inspection ahead of their game with Faversham Town while 15 minutes later Redhill will decide whether they can welcome Hastings United.

The County League games at East Grinstead, Hailsham, Lingfield, Littlehampton Rye United and Shoreham were called off yesterday. There will be checks ahead of the remaining fixtures at East Preston, Lancing, Ringmer and Worthing United.

It has been a sorry start to 2014 for Sussex football with everything called off on New Year’s Day apart from Crawley Down’s visit to Guernsey.
