Eastbourne Borough have begun negotiations in an attempt to extend the loan deals of Jamie Taylor and Tom Derry.
Striker Taylor has scored four goals in five games since joining from Sutton while young Gillingham forward Derry has also caught the eye.
Their one-month loans are both coming to an end but manager Tommy Widdrington has made it clear he would like to keep the pair for longer.
Widdrington said: “Jamie’s deal runs out after the Bromley game (on January 11). I have already started talks with Sutton to see where we go from here.
“Tom’s deal runs out after this weekend but we have already had initial chats. Tom and I are both keen to extend it. I have spoken to his manager at Gillingham and I expect that one to be done.”
Widdrington does not expect to bring in any new faces unless either Taylor or Derry go back.
He said: “The 19 I have available make a small but strong squad. If I was to lose Jamie or Tom I might need to bring someone in but I would be happy to continue with what we have got at the moment. In the first half of the season they have put us in a very good position.”
