Andrew Crofts fired Albion into the fourth round of the FA Cup today.
The Seagulls were well worth their 1-0 home win over Reading, despite a few nervy moments late on.
Crofts fired home after an Ashley Barnes lay-off on 32 minutes to secure a place in tomorrow afternoon’s draw.
His shot took a deflection off Alex Pearce to beat outstanding Reading keeper Adam Federici.
But Albion were due a bit of luck.
Keith Andrews, impressive full debutant Solly March and Barnes had all hit the woodwork before the goal went in.
Federici later kept out March’s low drive and a Kemy Agustien curler.
Reading improved late on but the busy Adam Le Fondre headed their best chance off target.
Gordon Greer successfully came through 56 minutes on his return after a calf injury.
Adam Chicksen had his first start for the club at left-back and Lewis Dunk also enjoyed welcome game time after replacing Greer.
