Crawley boss John Gregory admitted his side deserved to be dumped out of the FA Cup by Bristol Rovers tonight.

An injury time goal from John Joe O'Toole sealed a 2-1 win for the League Two outfit in the second round replay at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Jamie Proctor had headed Reds into a 14th minute lead but Elliot Richards cancelled out their advantage with eight minutes to go.

Gregory said: "They deserved to win, we didn't. In the second half we didn't play as well as we did in the first.

"Credit to Bristol Rovers, they threw four up front and just stuck the ball in our half as often as they could.

"We spent a lot of the half defending and it was difficult playing into a strong wind as when we cleared the ball it just came back.

"This tie has been a nightmare from the start to be honest. It is the fourth time we've tried to get the game finished (a draw in the initial match, an abandoned match and one postponed) so it's been very difficult."

Rovers pocket the £27,000 prize money and go through to face Birmingham City in the third round next week.
