Crawley Town boss John Gregory has revealed midfielder Dannie Bulman will be sidelined for another four weeks.
Bulman fractured his cheekbone in three places during the Boxing Day defeat to MK Dons and was initially expected to be out for three weeks.
The injury has turned out to be worse than first thought, however, with doctors concerned Bulman could risk his eyesight if he returned too soon.
Gregory said: “He is on the mend but it is not something you can rush. It is quite a bad injury and we don’t want to throw him out there too soon and go and do it again.
“When he first did it we knew he had fractured the cheekbone but he’s actually done it in three place.
“They had to check him in hospital every half hour to make sure his sight was all right and there is the chance he could lose his sight if he came back too soon.
“It is very dangerous kind of injury so we need to be careful. He might even have to wear a mask when he does come back.”
