Goal hero Andy Drury hailed the impact of supersubs Jamie Proctor and Sergio Torres after Crawley scored two late goals to draw at Coventry City.

Proctor came off the bench to head home his second goal in as many games before fellow substitute Torres set up Drury to make it 2-2 with five minutes to go.

It earned Reds what had looked an unlikely point after an own goal from Mat Sadler and an Andy Webster header with nine minutes remaining had put the Sky Blues in charge.

Drury said: “Both Sergio and Jamie came on and did really well to help change the game and that is what you need when you have a small squad like us. You want your substitutes to be able to come off the bench and make an impact and they certainly did their chances of starting the next match no harm.”

It was the second time in five league matches that Crawley have overcome a two-goal deficit to salvage a point while they also trailed 1-0 at Leyton Orient before going on to win 3-2.

Drury added: “It is becoming a bit of a habit and it is not something we want to continue. We are making it hard for ourselves but the fact we came back shows the spirit in the squad.

“We didn’t play well in the first half but we raised our game after the break. We were unlucky to go 2-0 down but we kept going and got what we deserved in the end.”
