ALBION prospect Christian Walton will be working with some of the finest young goalkeepers in England – next to a familiar face.
Walton is part of an FA training camp tomorrow and on Friday at the Surrey Sports Village in Guildford.
The Seagulls’ 18-year-old development squad goalkeeper is among ten stars of the future attached to clubs in the south, seven of them from the Premier League, for sessions run by England under-21 goalkeeping coach Martin Thomas and England development squads coach Simon Smith.
They are being helped out by Mark Mason, Albion’s head of academy goalkeeping, who joined 14 months ago after spells at Southend, Ipswich and Portsmouth.
The giant Walton’s recognition is reward for his form since signing for Albion from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee in February, despite interest from Fulham and several other clubs.
