Albion's FA Cup fourth round opponents Port Vale have suffered a crushing midfield injury blow of their own.
Florent Cuvelier, signed on loan from Sheffield United for the rest of the season, has been ruled out for five months by cruciate knee ligament damage sustained on his debut against Oldham on Saturday.
Albion are without Andrew Crofts for the rest of the campaign after he ruptured a cruciate in the last home game against Birmingham.
The FA Cup fifth round draw will be broadcast live on ITV at tea-time on Sunday, immediately after coverage of Chelsea's tie against Stoke at Stamford Bridge (3.30pm).
