Albion's development squad defender Vitalijs Maksimenko has completed his loan move to Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock for the rest of the season.

The versatile 23-year-old Latvian international is likely to make his debut against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Rugby Park tomorrow, subject to Kilmarnock securing international clearance in time.

Maksimenko becomes the fifth player to leave Albion during the January transfer window following the sales of Ashley Barnes (Burnley), Adam El-Abd (Bristol City) and George Barker (Swindon) and Shamir Goodwin's loan move to Torquay.

The Seagulls have so far signed striker Jonathan Obika from Spurs as a loan replacement for Leroy Lita, who returned to Swansea on January 1, and winger Jeffrey Monakana from Preston on a development contract.
