Will Buckley misses the Burnley match

Will Buckley will still be missing for Albion at Burnley tomorrow night.

The winger, linked with a move to Sunderland or Crystal Palace, has not played since suffering a recurrence of hamstring trouble at Blackpool on December 29.

Head coach Oscar Garcia told The Argus: "He's not joined in training with the group. He's not ready to play on Tuesday."

Tomasz Kuszczak, Bruno, Gordon Greer, Stephen Ward, Keith Andrews, David Lopez and Leo Ulloa are all expected to return to the starting line-up after they were rested for Saturday's FA Cup win at Port Vale.

Albion have until 11pm on Friday night to sign replacements for Ashley Barnes - now at Burnley - Adam El-Abd after his move to Bristol City and the injured Andrew Crofts.

Oscar said: "I hope when the transfer window closes we will have some players who will strengthen the squad. The aim is to bring in players who will improve the team."

The Argus understands Cardiff are weighing up their options for former Albion loan winger Craig Conway, who was not in their squad for Saturday's FA Cup victory at Bolton.

Conway is being linked with the Seagulls' Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Joe Mason, one of Albion's striker targets, started the match at Bolton. Cardiff are on the verge of borrowing Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha and signing Stoke centre-forward Kenwyne Jones.

Irish defender/midfielder Shaun Williams, who chose a move to Millwall rather than Albion, has completed his medical and is signing a two-and-a-half year contract with Ian Holloway's Championship strugglers.

I know he has an injury, but always makes me nervous when a player isn't in the squad during January!

I'm getting really nervous about whether our so called "recruitment team" are able to persuade anybody to join us, so won't be holding my breath on Conway Mason or anybody else come to that. But you can be sure that Burke and Barber's eyes will light up with several millions on offer for Liam and Will Buckley. I hope that I a proved wrong in that and we can end the season with at least one Wembley trip perhaps more.

Do not like Buckley not being available---is it a smoke screen or is he really still injured?? If injured that could make him less attractive to other teams. May get the label ´Sicknote´like many others have.!! Excellent that CMS is getting his first game today---be interesting as to how he plays and how his fitness and injury stands up to the test!!

Ah - those evil money men again. Wouldn't life be just perfect without them ? I'm fine with selling both Bridcutt and Buckley. They've both been missing from the team for most of the season anyway - for injury or 'other reasons' so why are we going to miss them ? Cash in now and sign new players in the summer - not the January silly season. It would be nice to get Conway back to provide ammunition for Ulloa and hopefully CSM, but if it's not possible then we can make do and mend. Personally I find the concept of a coach who has the faith and ability to bring talented young players into the first team from the DS much more exciting than signing so-so players for the sake of it.

I like and agree with this post, apart from the reference to CSM which sounds similar to a medical condition.
Now CMS coming back and featuring in an U21 match today is very good news!

Last week I suggested a no money deal for Bridders, take two players as payment, I got told I was wrong in my thinking and today, I think It was right to tell me I was wrong.

I want more to come from the sale of Bridders other than just buying a replacement. A cash on the table deal would give us maybe as much as four million to put in the bank for next year.
In keeping with my desire to see the club reduce the average age of our top eighteen players, four million should enable us to buy a couple of speedy and talented younger defenders. We would have a transfer kitty regardless of what happens re Bridcutt and that money will allow us to look at other positions on the park. Four young players are knocking on the door today and with a little luck could feature strongly come next season.

It's not every day that Brighton will sell a player for four million, we should use that money for the long term and not for a quick fix today. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Yes. Without those evil money men we would still be at the Withdean with a pile of debt. Worse that that, we would still be at the Withdean with planning permission for a new ground gathering dust.

Agree with you Brian - 100%. ...and Brian Tawse was a very good player for us at the level we were playing back then.

Buckley was reportedly not fully fit so didn't travel with the team to Vale. The team did not return to Brighton so it should not really surprise anyone that Buckley will miss the match against Burnley.
I can't see Poyet being allowed to do a deal for a player that is currently not fully fit.
