Gary Hart is back in contention for Eastbourne Borough ahead of today’s trip to Maidenhead.

The former Albion favourite missed last Saturday’s win at home to Bath City with a twisted knee but is expected to be involved this weekend.

Gillingham loanee Tom Derry also comes back into the squad after a dead leg sidelined the young forward against Bath.

Manager Tommy Widdrington has a couple of players suffering with illness but expects Australian defender James Stinson to be the only player missing.

Stinson has been absent the last two matches following an injury sustained in training.

Chris Shephard plays but then begins a two-match ban following his dismissal against Albion in the Sussex Senior Cup, which means he will miss Tuesday’s game at Whitehawk and the visit of Dorchester the following weekend.

New striker Elvis Hammond scored on his debut last Saturday after joining from Farnborough.

Widdrington said: “I was pleased with Elvis but I was pleased with all of the lads.

“They bounced back from the Basingstoke game well against Brighton on the Tuesday and carried that on into Saturday’s game.

“Both teams deserve a bit of credit. They both played in the right way in very difficult conditions. The entertainment value must have been great for the neutral fan and we did just enough to edge it.”
