Albion youngster Jake Forster-Caskey insists the FA Cup has lost none of its magic.

The Arsenal fan is gunning for glory against Steve Bruce’s Hull in the last 16 at the Amex on Monday.

Forster-Caskey has fond memories of the competition when he was growing up and a wonder goal by Ray Parlour in the 2002 final against Chelsea.

The fit-again midfielder would love to be involved against the Tigers after featuring in the win against Newcastle two years ago.

Forster-Caskey told The Argus: “I think every player loves to play in the FA Cup. From a little boy you watch it. I’m an Arsenal fan, so the Ray Parlour goal when he smashed it into the top corner is one that I look back to.

“The League is important but the FA Cup is still special. People say it’s not as much anymore but I think if you speak to all the players and when you have got senior pros like Matty Upson wanting to play in it, it just proves to you that it’s a great Cup to be in and it’s exciting.”

Albion have already knocked Newcastle out of the FA Cup twice and Bruce’s Sunderland out of the League Cup at the Amex.

They also gave Arsenal an FA Cup scare before losing 3-2 in the fourth round last year.

Forster-Caskey said: “I was watching that game from the sidelines and they did really well but hopefully we can beat a Prem team this year.

“Anybody coming to the Amex will have a tough game, whether they are in the Premier League or the Championship.

“The way we keep the ball and play at the Amex is going to threaten anybody. I think it will be a good game, I think it will be tight, but you never know in the FA Cup. Let’s hope we can cause an upset.”

Forster-Caskey’s fellow central midfielder Keith Andrews is available for selection after missing the home wins against Doncaster and Leeds with a hamstring injury.
