Peter Brezovan is hoping Albion’s home form can give them an advantage when they entertain Hull in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday.
The Seagulls have won their last four games at the Amex without conceding a goal.
They have let in just two goals in their last seven matches at home.
Brezovan, who looks set to play in goal with Tomasz Kuszczak rested, said: “We are always good at the Amex. Our form at home is better than it is away so we are looking forward to it.
“It is going to be hard. It is a Premier League team but they played in the Championship with us (last season). It is a chance to get through. We must focus on being our best and then we can make it.”
Brezovan and fellow goalkeeper Casper Ankergren have spent much of the last two seasons on the sidelines with Kuszczak the No. 1 choice between the posts.
The big Slovak understands the situation.
He said: “Everyone wants to play and Tomasz has played well.
“It is frustrating for me personally but for the team it is great. It is a competition.
“If you ask Casper he would probably say the same. Tomasz is a great keeper and he will play so we have to accept it, although at the same time we have to fight for our place."
