Steve Bruce has warned his Hull side Albion will be tough opponents at the Amex.

The Seagulls host Hull in the fifth round of the FA Cup tomorrow.

Bruce’s side lost to Albion at the Amex on their way to winning promotion to the Premier League last season.

The Tigers chief said: “They’re a very good side. They have been there or thereabouts at the top end of the Championship for a couple of years now.

“Last year we beat them in my very first game and then lost narrowly down there. It will be a tough game, no question about that. Brighton have been very good on their own patch over recent years.”

Bruce believes it will be a big contrast to face League Two side Southend in the previous round.

He added: “It will be very different. Technically they want to play and the new manager has that Spanish influence.

“They play very similarly to the way Gus Poyet had them playing. That’s the way Brighton have gone about it as a club, a bit like Swansea.”
