Carlisle boss Graham Kavanagh has hit out angrily at the decision to delay the postponement of his side’s game at Crawley until just three hours before the scheduled kick-off yesterday Kavanagh felt the match should have been called off on Friday to save the 111 travelling fans making the 13-hour round trip for no reason.
He said: “I can’t really understand, for the life of me, why we weren’t given a decision before we all travelled on Friday. “The final decision has come at a really late stage and that has made it impossible for those who were travelling to do anything other than complete their journey.
"The weather warnings were put out for a reason so it’s really disappointing that you almost have to ignore that and travel anyway when, in reality, it looks like there was never any real chance of the game being on.”
It was Crawley’s seventh postponement in less than seven weeks on Saturday.
