Albion boss Oscar Garcia and Hull chief Steve Bruce have criticised UEFA for condemning their teams to two key games in little over 48 hours.

The Seagulls drew 1-1 with the Premier League visitors at the Amex last night and now face an FA Cup fifth round replay on Humberside at the KC Stadium on Monday evening to decide who hosts Gus Poyet's Sunderland in the quarter-finals.

The replay has been brought forward from Tuesday under UEFA regulations to avoid a clash with Champions League fixtures and Albion have a crucial game at home to fellow Championship play-off contenders Wigan on Saturday.

Oscar said: "I don't think it's good for anybody to play two games in three days but it's what we have to do. Of course the travelling will not go in our favour.

"We can't do anything about it. It's not the best scenario for us but the competition is like this."

Bruce's Hull go to Cardiff on Saturday in their quest for Premier League survival. He said of the UEFA rule: "I think that's ridiculous. Surely we could play on the same night as the Champions League. We'll have to take it and deal with it. Brighton have got the same problem as us but the big worry is injuries."

Oscar also refuted criticism on Twitter from former Albion loan signing Robbie Savage about his team selection after Leo Ulloa's third goal in as many games in the first half was cancelled out by Yannick Sagbo's 86th minute equaliser for Hull.

The Spaniard's seven changes included the return from injuries of Will Buckley, Keith Andrews and Jake Forster-Caskey, while Kazenga LuaLua is also nursing an ongoing knee tendon problem.

Oscar said: "I didn't hear anything from him (Savage) when we played against Reading. We made a lot of changes then as well. It's a traditional competition and I am always looking to win every game. For 85 minutes we were in the quarter-finals."
