The Argus: Albion suffer frustration against Hull Albion suffer frustration against Hull

Albion will pocket a six-figure sum from television coverage of their FA Cup replay.

The Seagulls face an unwanted trek to Hull City on Monday after last night’s 1-1 draw in the fifth round.

Their tie has been selected for live transmission on ITV4.

And that means both clubs receive £123,750 in FA Cup broadcast fees.

i'd rather we crash out in hull than to poyet's sunderland at the amex; a game i can't seeing us win.

still, the more money the better.

Every little helps. Hopefully not many Hull fans will turn out and the lack of atmosphere will be in our favour. I have no fears about playing Sunderland. We will be more fired up for it than their players and there will be a cracking atmosphere whatever the result. However ...have to beat Hull first!

More importantly we have to beat Wigan first. Then whether our squad is capable of winning at Hull just two days later is another matter, but then at least we have 5 days off before Millwall away. The TV money is the only good thing about the replay.

That's great news, feared BT Sport would have it - which i don't have. I can still see us getting through, even with a complete new 11 to the Wigan game - I HAVE FAITH!!!!

Given the fact of two games in two days, I don't think we should get too excited about the 'fee' as all it will do is balance the cost of chartering a much-needed, comfy plane ride to Humberside in place of a six-hour coach journey.
That said, no excuses then!

I was at the game last night and generally it was a very upbeat performance and I left with a positive vibe although I do have one or two issues which I think are pretty general.
Will Buckley showed that a fully fit Buckley is a huge positive for our side, if fit he has to play, March and Ince are going to be outstanding players for us in the future and we need to get them on long term contracts, Chicksen and Dunk I would include in this because they showed to me they have the desire and ability level to play at this and maybe a higher level.
I am still not convinced about KFC in the middle, I hope with time that he can improve, I just have nagging doubts at the moment whether he will.
Andrews is a good championship player but for the future I dont see him being involved.
My biggest concern is going forward, Ulloa is Ulloa and would score goals in the premiership, one of the best strikers I have seen at the club recently, but if you take Ulloa out then how on earth are we going to score goals, Lua Lua (although a rare off night), Buckley, March, Orlandi, will provide chances without Ulloa I am just not sure who will score them, we cant be confident that CMS and Hoskins will come back the same, and I am sorry but Obika looked to me like he had concrete in his boots, I hope he proves me wrong and I know he is young but he has been on loan everywhere and there must be a reason why Spurs keep letting him go, a new striker must be a priority, I unfortunately feel that lack of a good 2nd striker will cost us this season, we cant keep hanging on till 1-0 as sooner or later we will be punished.
As I say though we are in a great place, great stadium, great fans, training facilities, chairman who bleeds blue and white, FFP taken care off and a real up beat mood,

Quality comments Uckers! Agree entirely about forward situation. All of top championship clubs have proven strikers. We need a quality loan until CMS and hopefully Hoskins returns. I see a certain Qpr forward got a run out for 30 mins on Sunday and Harry said he was happy for him to leave. Obika or Bobby for rest of season?

This is a handy if unexpected extra lump sum to pick up, I would like to see it used to pay toward an extra central defender on loan. Dunk did himself and the club proud against Hull but he is all we have as back up, so he is covering two players, Greer and Upson. We have just a few days before we take on Wigan, if we have a couple of inward loan deals simmering on the back burner, now might be a good time to get them in, a covering central defender being the priority.

You are so spot on with your assessment and comments. If we can get Sunderland at home then must be another bumper payout for us plus huge attendance. Think we will finish 7th this year mainly because of our last game at Forest, but footballs a funny old game so who knows.

Didn't see Buckley set up the goal then? He is going to play a big part for us starting Saturday if we have any chance of sneaking in to the play-offs.

Does anyone know if Zamora is cup tied?
Would be a very handy addition over the next few weeks if a deal could be done on wages.

Whilst the money and exposure will be good on Monday both clubs have much more important games on Saturday and this could play into our hands.
We beat Wigan at home and we'll be buzzing whereas if Hull lose to Cardiff then they'll be looking over their shoulders and getting nervous.
The scenarios are endless but we can still go through to play Sunderland.
Have faith.UTA

Quality comments Uckers! Agree entirely about forward situation. All of top championship clubs have proven strikers. We need a quality loan until CMS and hopefully Hoskins returns. I see a certain Qpr forward got a run out for 30 mins on Sunday and Harry said he was happy for him to leave. Obika or Bobby for rest of season?
Bobby will play again for us one day, its destiny, just hope we dont expect too much from him when he does
Bobby Z would be ideal for a time share with Leo as long they were both happy (mainly Leo) sharing the game time between them. Get him in before the weekend! If only!

Zamora is not cup tied and he could do a job for rest of season taking some of the work load off Leo. If Ulloa was to get injured can u seriously see us making an impact with Obika. Zamora will but a buzz around the place, sell a few shirts and get us the odd goal between now and May!!

Let's face it - they did well! I'm concerned that they revert to hoofball way too often - and they gave the ball away in a criminal manner. Kazz was dire, Andrews was very ordinary and Obika ... looked like he would be more at home in a Sunday league game. Dunk and Upson were excellent. March and Ince showed what great potential they have. All in all Oscar.sent out a decent team and we really should have won. I just want to know what part of "don't give the ball away" do the players not understand?

Very impressed with Dunk, who I don't usually rate. The reason we didn't see the game out was a lack of know-how in central midfield. Rather than keeping the ball and using up time, we retreat deep into our own half, mainly the penalty box. This just invites trouble. We did it vs Birmingham at home recently, but Birmingham didn't have enough to make it count for them. Andrews, who should have been leading by example, became chief culprit in giving the ball away. Bridcutt and Crofts are big misses and ultimately their absence may cost us a Semi-Final and a play-off place unless we can find someone to come in on loan. Stephens is not great at ball retention, so an experienced loan replacement for Crofts would be great. But who is there?

Uckers, good analysis I think of the team and not just from last night. Couldn't go last night but listening to R5Live Steve Claridge was saying that KLL was being played too far infield and would have been better out wide. Reckoned it was to look after one of Hulls main threats. Said our shape was lopsided. Spoke very highly of WB and LU combining. How can anyone say WB didn't play well after setting up the goal chance. Just wait until he's fit. Good competeition between SM and WB for that slot I think.

As for JFC I've yet to be convinced by him to be honest but like OldGull I think he's one to develop for the future (JFC not OldGull of course). Would rather see more experience on the pitch during crucial games though, and yes I do think of the FA cup games as important.

I think you'll find that costs are deducted from the gross attendance before the gate money is split in three and that travel costs for the away team are based on an accepted scale. Any indulgence over and above the basic, is up to the travelling club.

Any indulgence over and above the basic, is up to the travelling club. Albion In Staffs

Disappointed we played certain 'weaker' players last night. It was a game we could have won with a first team .
Agreed in so far as Orlandi is concerned. he should have been in the squad.
When Bruce brought on 2 forwards, I would have substituted Bruno or Greer for Lua Lua. We could have crowded them out in those last few minutes. Brun's skill factor and close control has been brilliant in recent matches. We needed someone who could hold onto the ball like he can, and he could have assisted in closing down their big threat on the right flank.

Like another poster said, if only Oscar had continued with El Abd when greer returned from injury, he wouldn't have made the decision (in a fit of pique0 to join Bristol City. How we could have done with him in those last few minutes . He had been immense while Greer was out injured - and he would have got us through to the Qr finals i am sure.

Crazy also that with only one proven goalscorer we let Barnes go, he would have been the ideal replacement for Ulloa.

if we go out the cup in the replay Jones and co have a lot to answer for!
Sods law Hull will beat Sunderland and draw one of the Sheffield clubs in the semi-finals.
Hull will beat us - because Steve Bruce desperately wants to win the FA Cup. he was quoted on the BBC website as saying that they may never get a better chance to go as far in the FA Cup again.

As a Brighton suppoerter of 57 years I doubt whether I will ever see us have a better chance of reaching the semi final (AT WEMBLEY!) than this - so I am feeling very disappointed at Oscar's lack of understanding of how important the FA Cup is to us supporters.

Nice try, Jellyneck. However Palace trolls stand out like their team's ghastly colour-clash kit!

Nice use of English, Hawkins....only counted 8 errors. Your scheme sounds amazing! I'll make sure to risk money on it ASAP.

Glad you were willing to spam our site here in Inglaterra rather than just enjoy your riches without bothering.
