Albion head coach Oscar Garcia has warned that Wigan have strength in depth to cope without Ben Watson.

The former Crystal Palace midfielder broke a leg for the second time in 18 months against Barnsley on Tuesday night and is out for the season.

Oscar believes tomorrow’s visitors to the Amex can overcome the blow.

The Spaniard said: “For me Wigan have the best squad in the Championship. They can play with three different starting elevens and they will be fighting for the promotion places.”

Wigan’s 2-0 win against Barnsley lifted them above Albion in the pack chasing the top six in the Championship on goals scored.

Wigan boss Uwe Rosler said: “Overall I’m pleased with what I have at my disposal, we have certain options. Callum McManaman had a kick on the ankle, which is why he was not involved against Barnsley. But he will be ready for Brighton.”

Albion head into the key clash off the back of Monday’s 1-1 home draw against Hull in the FA Cup.

Oscar said: "I was really happy, not with the final result but because all my players showed to everybody that they can play in the Championship and most of them are good enough to play in the Premier League.

"Maybe in the Premier League during the whole season we’d have to have a stronger squad or bigger squad but I think we showed we can compete against Premier League opposition."
