Albion talking point: What is your reaction to the arrival of Jesse Lingard?

The Argus: Jesse Lingard in action for Manchester United under-21s Jesse Lingard in action for Manchester United under-21s

Albion fans just missed out on a glimpse of Jesse Lingard last month.

He had returned to Manchester United after a loan spell by the time Birmingham City came to the Amex.

In fact he was on the bench for Manchester United as Blues were beaten by David Lopez’s volley.

Lingard scored six league goals in 13 games with Birmingham and is highly-rated at Old Trafford.

So what do you make of Albion’s new loan acquisition?

Are you excited? Surprised? Impressed? Disappointed?

And what does his arrival do to the Seagulls’ chances of making the play-offs?

We’d love to get your reaction to Albion’s latest bit of business.

Great News.
Just don't keep him sitting on the bench for 80 plus minutes.
Perhaps we could sent Obika back marked 'hardly used and surplus to requirements'

I commented yesterday that I was disappointed we hadn't moved for anyone, so this is excellent news - if I remember correctly he scored 4 on his debut for Brum, something like that on Saturday would be very welcome. He was on the bench for Man U at Olympiakos so they must rate him. Well done, Brighton....let's hope he can live up to expectations.

Great news. My mate used to coach him at United as a kid and reckons he's a top player with a great attitude.

Also great that, despite the fact that this has been 'on the boil' for some time, none of this came out till the deal was done. That's proper class. Well done to all involved.

Yes make the most of him,two up front for the rest of the season.Lets have an attacking policy, maybe we might come unstuck the odd time but i am sure it would be successful and it would be more exciting for the long suffering fans.

Wasn;t that the Danish keeper, Lindegaard who was on the bench for MU at Olympiakos??

It's clearly positive news. He has not signed to warm the bench until the last few minutes of a match. I think we will see Ulloa and Lingard paired up front for long periods from hereon which will indicate that Oscar will not stay rooted to the lone central striker scenario. It's the same at Leeds - Wickham signed to pair with McCormack.
We might have got a better player than Wickham.

I doubt whether he will be on the pitch as the last 2 loan signings never got a game, When will this manager play 2 strikers and one winger (preferably Lua Lua who will frighten the life out of defenders on pure speed alone.

Don't lets hype up the lad and expect too much. He's not Wayne Rooney, is he?

I really hope that he does a good job for us , but let's see the results - then we can praise him.

The way Lua Lua's been playing recently won't frighten anyone, even my granny and she's dead.

we will not reach the play-offs with a lone striker - as good as Ulloa is. We need two class strikers and good service from the rest of the team
