Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson believes Crawley would have mounted a stronger challenge for the play-offs but for the number of games they have had called off.
Play-off chasing Posh visit today as Reds stage their first home league game in 2014.
Ferguson said: “Crawley are a very good side and we are in for a very tough game. There is no doubt they are in a very false position and they will soon be climbing the table.
“If they keep their current form going they may even have ideas of doing better than just a top-half finish.
"Certainly they outplayed us at our place earlier in the season and they looked like promotion contenders that day.”
