Albion defender Stephen Ward admits his future is in limbo – but the on-loan left-back from Wolves has hinted he would happily sign for the Seagulls.

Ward’s consistent form this season has won him a Republic of Ireland recall, while parent club Wolves are on course to be promoted back to the Championship.

Ward, 28, said: “I’ve got another year (at Wolves) so I’m a little bit in limbo at the moment. I’ve not really spoken to them. They are concentrating on getting promoted, which I think they will do the way they are going.

“I have really enjoyed it here and I’m open to anything but from now until the end of the season I just want to keep enjoying my football and hopefully help Brighton get into the play-offs, because I think the club deserves to be challenging to go into the Premier League.

“It’s got the perfect set-up. The stadium is fantastic, the new training ground will be great and it’s a real bonus that I have come here and enjoyed my time. What ever will be will be but it’s a great club and one that anyone should be privileged to play for.”
