Boss John Gregory says Crawley’s ambitions for the rest of the season will be decided in the next ten days.

Reds travel to Oldham Athletic today aiming to follow up their impressive victory against leaders Wolves in midweek and make further inroads into the 12 point gap between themselves and the play-off positions. Gregory’s men welcome in-form Sheffield United to the Checkatrade.com Stadium on Tuesday.

They then face a pair of tough away games at fourth-placed Preston and Port Vale.

The Reds manager believes a maximum 12 point return from those games will force stuttering Peterborough to begin looking nervously over their shoulders in sixth place.

Gregory said: “We have got a big quartet of games coming up. The next four matches are massive and they come so close together that in ten days’ time we will have a pretty good idea how our season is going to pan out.

“At the moment we’ve got no control of our destiny because if Peterborough win all their games it is impossible for us to catch them. We are relying on them a little bit but all we can do is win our own games.

“I would rather be in their position than ours but the fact they have lost 14 games already this season proves they are fallible. They have dropped points in recent weeks so it is up to us to take advantage.

“If we can win all four games then we will be right in the thick of it. They are very tough games but when you look at what we achieved on Tuesday it shows that anything is possible.”
