Midfielder on sick list for Albion

The Argus: Dale Stephens is unwell and misses the Sheffield Wednesday match Dale Stephens is unwell and misses the Sheffield Wednesday match

Dale Stephens has been ruled out of Albion's visit to Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night by illness.

The midfielder has been struck down by a similar virus to the one which sidelined Matt Upson from the Seagulls' last away game at Bolton.

Stephens, signed in January from Charlton, was relegated to the bench by Keith Andrews for Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Ipswich.

Will Hoskins has suffered a minor setback in his recovery from more than a year out with serious knee damage.

The striker is not involved for the development team against QPR at the Amex tonight due to tightness in the back of his leg.

Boss Oscar Garcia said: "Yesterday in training he had some problems. He went to the physio. He has to rest for a few days."

Andrea Orlandi (thigh) has yet to resume training with the rest of the first team squad and out-of-favour midfielder Kemy Agustien is also on the injured list.

Why is it our players always seem to have "setbacks" when returning from injury, I am beginning to think that the medical staff don't know what they are doing ? Orlandi, Buckley, Hoskins, CMS the list goes on and on.
Wonder why that would be !!!

There is no way Augustien is injured. Someone needs to swallow their pride and play him.
How can he b injured when he has not played?
Tomorrow against the Owls we need an injection of pace.
Kuz
Calde (we need a rb who will defend) Dunk Upson Ward
Ince
JFC March
Buckley Ulloa Lua lua
March can play down the middle; only question mark is JFC but rather him be told to hit a few cos we all know he has a shot.
Lopez could cover mf and play to the wings or a good through ball. Lindgarde and kaz would be the ones that are interchangeable.

I don't know, during the many hours of training perhaps? Injuries do occur outside the 90 minutes of first team play, you know ;-)

Very disappointing performances from JFC lately ,I have to wonder whether Oxford Utd sussed him out ,I love his belief that he can score from almost anywhere ,but not at the expense of a better option ,he quite often takes a shot when we would have had a better chance had he have passed .
We must play our best 11 tomorrow ,and we have to use more attack minded tactics than Saturday ,as Vegas might say ,time to s**t or get off the pot !. UTA

What shots?.... I never noticed any from him on Saturday,.....JFC is too lightweight, he gets shrugged off the ball easily, and is too slow. He reminds me of Dean Cox, ok at L1, but struggling in the Championship, especially the top end of it.

Saturday he wasn`t at the races at all , I`m talking ,about his overall game ,if he was as good as KLL or WB at the long efforts fine ,but sadly not . UTA

Disappointed that Stephens can't play tomorrow but hope he will be fit for Saturday. Looks as if the Midfield selects itself ie Andrews, Ince and JFC and suspect we will have the normal back 5 unless Dunk is given another start.
Can't see much 'rotation' against Wednesday other than perhaps Lopez and LuaLua starting in place of Buckley and Lingard.
Equally disappointed to hear about Hoskins set back. Doesn't sound as if either he or CMS will be fit enough for the match squad by Saturday. With the Loan window closing on Thursday I wonder if it might be prudent to consider getting another striker in on loan now Obita has left.
Our midfield looks really 'thin' at present and bringing in another midfielder should be an option under review if we want to secure a play-off place. Talking about midfield Agustein seems to be this season's Vicente - whatever happened to him ?
