Rain frustrates Sussex

First published in Sport by

Sussex's hopes of pressing home their advantage on day two of their opening County Championship game of the season against Middlesex at Hove were frustrated by the weather.

Persistent rain saw the umpires abandon play for the day at 1.40pm without a ball being bowled.

Sussex were hoping to build a significant lead after bowling Middlesex out for just 105 yesterday on Sunday. Matt Prior (32 not out) and Matt Machan (21 not out) will resume tomorrow morning with Sussex 86-3 in their first innings.
