Will Hoskins hopes to follow fellow long-term injury victim Craig Mackail-Smith back into Albion's first team before the end of the season.

Mackail-Smith made his comeback from 13 months out as a late substitute at Barnsley on Saturday.

Hoskins' return from a similar lay-off following knee surgery was delayed by a calf injury but he has now recovered.

He tweeted: "So glad to be back to full fitness. Feel good and strong. Sick of watching games now. Hope I can play my part just as it was said weeks ago."

Albion fan in London says...

I feel for Hoskins I really do as he has had a torrid time with injuries but his lack of involvement now he has been fit for over two weeks is a sure sign he will be moving on in the summer imo. I hope he proves me wrong and gets a string of goals in the last bits of this season. Either way I don't feel we have seen him at his best in the time he has had with us. A costly £500k looking back

Hoskins scored 1 goal in 18 appearances before he was injured - people that think he is going to change are fortunes are deluded

1 in 6 is hardly prolific! And 2 out of 12 at Sheffield United on loan..... but sure after a year out he will suddenly score loads

Now he is fit but not match fit we may only see small cameos from Will in the next few games. But, he seems to have a hunger to get back to playing regularly and I really hope that he can finally show us what a class player he is. I really hope he won't be released in the summer because some club will get a very good player indeed. UTA
