Final: Leicester 1 Albion 4

9:34pm

Albion sent on David and Mackail-Smith for LuaLua and Lingard.

TAYLOR-FLETCHER pulled one back for City after Dyer eased past Calderon and crossed low.

9:28pm

Those fans who stayed started singing in celebration as minutes ticked away.

Forster-Caskey replaced March.

9:25pm

The party was well and truly over for City - and hundreds of their fans headed for the exits - after ULLOA headed home a perfect Stephens cross on 80 minutes.

9:19pm

LuaLua flashed a drive wide.

City sent on Taylor-Fletcher for Mahrez.

9:16pm

Albion were toying with Leicester now to the delight of their fans.

Super passiing led to Lingard havng a shot blocked in the goalmouth.

Then March picked out Ulloa at the far pst but the striker tried to bring the ball down and Schmeichel dived on it.

9:13pm

Morgan almost pulled one back very quickly when he got his head to a free-kick and saw his downward effort diverted away from the bottom corner by Kuszczak's fine save.

Drinkwater had a go from just outside the box and shot past the top corner.

9:10pm

Albion had a spell of possession and it led to their third goal as ULLOA latched on to a ball through by Stephens, bundled his way past Schmeichel's challenge and fired inside the far post past two defenders on the line.

9:09pm

Wasilewski was booked for a foul.

9:08pm

The hosts thought they had picked a way through but Greer slid in to make a superb tackle on Nugent as the striker bore down on goal.

City were getting on top and Greer had to head away a cross in front of goal.

8:58pm

With Knockert having left the field, it was King who went for goal when City were awarded a free-kick 25 yards out. Kuszczak got across behind his wall to push the ball behind.

8:56pm

Wood almost made an immediate impact as his shot on the turn from Moore's long throw hit the outside of the post and bounced behind.

But then Albion went close as Stephens burst from midfield, lifted his shot past Schmeichel and saw Wasilewski get back to clear it from just in front of his own line.

8:49pm

Leicester sent on Wood and Dyer for Phillips and Knockaert for the second half.

8:35pm

Ward still looked in some pain as he limped off in the compnay of the physio at the break.

8:34pm

Leicester stepped things up a bit just before the break. Albion cleared a couple of crosses and then Konchesky picked out King, who headed wide.

Nugent clattered late into Ward and was booked as the half moved into added time.

Half: Leicester 0 Albion 2

8:28pm

Both LuaLua and March seeing a lot of the ball infield. LuaLua tried his luck from 25 yards and his drive, heading just inside the post, was pushed behind by the diving Schmeichel.

The big Dane then rather unconvincingly pawed Stehens' resulting corner away from immediate danger.

Albion were playing some terrific football at times.

8:20pm

Leicester's fans, content to sit back and watch the show at the start, were now demamding better from their team.

Knockaert cut in and had a go from 25 yards but Calderon flung himself at the ball and half-blocked. The ricochet went high into the air just inside the box but Albion cleared.

The Seagulls were full of confidecne when they got the ball down and passed. Calderon joined an attack and eased past a half-hearted tackle by Mahrez but his cross was cut out.

8:16pm

It almost got even better for Albion as Ulloa got to a long ball before the defence and the oncoming Schemichel. He lobbed the ball past the keeper but it drifted wide of the far post.

8:12pm

Kuszczak was unconvincing when he came out to punch a free-kick curled into a packed penalty area from the right by Knockaert. But Albion got it clear.

The Seagulls were back into their stride. And they doubled their lead when Ward drilled over a superb cross from near the corner flag and LINGARD headed home at the far post.

8:05pm

LuaLua's lovely pass inaide the defence sent WARD away down the left and he seemed to feel he had wasted the opening as his low cross was put behind by Morgan.

But the left-back moved into the area for the resulting corner by Stephens and headed home from close range.

8:02pm

Albion were being allowed time on the ball to play their football.

Their first corner was headed down into the goalmouth by Upson, where ref Pawson spotted pushing.

When City broke up an Albion move playing out from the back. Andrews was in the right place to block King's cross.

Then the Seagulls countered and Calderon's low cross was whisked over the bar by LuaLua's first-time right-foot shot.

7:57pm

Then Leicester showed their quality and might easily have created an eighth-minute goal for Phillips. Konchesky worked a one-two wth Knockaert down their left and his cross fell to Phillips at the back post.

But the veteran striker reprieved Albion with a poor first touch and the ball bounced behind for a goal kick.

Mahrez had a go from 25 yards and Kuszczak held his low effort.

7:52pm

Albion made a fairly bright start attacking the goal furthest from their fans. They got the ball into Ulloa in the box but his back heel looking for a team mate was intercepted.

Then Ulloa fed March on the right edge of the box but his cross went rather meakly behind for a goal kick.

7:47pm

They are having a party here in Leicester tonight.

The Albion fans who made it here might not know anybody.

Still, they can congregate in the corner, talk among themselves - and maybe enjoy it!

An unlikely double beckons but it will take some performance.

We are under way!
