Albion talking point: So NOW where is this up-and-down season heading?

The Argus: Stephen Ward celebrates his goal Stephen Ward celebrates his goal

Albion are savouring their best result – and probably performance – of the season tonight.

Their stunning 4-1 win at promoted leaders Leicester City has taken them back to within two points of the top six.

So how are you feeling about the play-off push?

Are you checking the fixtures, working out the permutations and feeling full of hope again?

Or will you wait to see how they negotiate a very different type of challenge against Charlton on Saturday?

What has tonight done for your thoughts on the race for the top six?

What does the result say about the team selected by Oscar Garcia and were they helped by the fact Leicester were already promoted?

We’d love to get your reaction on a proud night for Oscar and his men.

It's very simple in my mind.

OG went all guns blazing for a result tonight and it worked. Stick with this positive approach for the last games and imho we will achieve 6th..

Great win. We'll done Oscar. Hopefully the booing will cease and the lads can relax and play their football in the remaining games.

We are in a seven team competition for 6th place. I've included Watford but not 'Boro. Although most of the games will not be against each other, it is effectively a play-off for the play-offs. Tonight's result, especially the way it was achieved, should position us as favourites.
Oscar has discovered the formula for success. Whether it was by accident is not important, we just need to carry it on into Saturday's match against Charlton.
We are still talking about going to the wire, but it is now looking very possible.

I think we all know in our hearts that the result followed the team selection and set up ,the strikers knew they had a chance with two wide men ,the two wide men knew they could open up Leicester ,and the midfield knew they had a bit more space to create chances ,and the defence knew they would have more support . No set up always works ,but sometimes a different set up doe`s ,tonight we stopped being predictable ole Brighton ,and became an effective offensive unit that every man on the pitch played a part in .I was not there ,and i did not get a link to see the game ,but all available commentary and information says this ,and that sounds good to me !. The most important thing from the result is that the players delivered, the saw their chances and took them.
Five matches left, the lads must take today's attitude and confidence and win them all, the result will be aplay off place.

It also did help the Leicester players had been out drinking for 2 days b4,and didn't give one bit about the result. They have run away with this league by almost 40 points you seem to forget. The best night of football all season but it was at Chelsea.Pure magic from start to finish, and pure passion from team and fans alike.
Four sentences, each one of them incorrect. Nice one, Freeloaders ;-)

With Reading still to play Leicester, Wigan and Burnley, I think we can overhaul them, so just got to keep doing the same or preferrably better than Ipswich and B'muff. I can't see Forest challenging as they seem to be in absolute freefall now. Reckon we can sneak into that 6th spot, and hopefully secure it before Forest away on last day of the season - not a happy hunting ground for us.

I agree with the prospects outlined above. If you look at our fixtures (assuming we can start beating the bottom teams!) then we must be favourites, to catch and pass Reading. Ipswich and B'mouth aren't far behind though and have a bit more momentum than us currently. We have 3 of our final 5 games at home against teams in the bottom five. I don't care that they may be scrapping to survive. We should be too strong for all of them. We have to perform but, hey, that's a given right ...if we want a shot at going up?

I am glad Leo got a brace, hopefully that will calm him down a bit. Great to see Kaz on from the start and Stephens put it a good performance. Jesse has been getting better each week IMO and could be important in the run in. Hope Ward is okay.

I am one of those who have been appealing to Oscar to go for the opposition right from the start and forget the one man up at home matches,so was amazed at our performance away particularly against the leaders who were expected to put on a relaxed show now that they have been promoted. This was a freak result but lets see this style at our remaining home matches we are due this after the displays seen at the Amex this season and will assist the sale of season tickets for our next Championship season.

Check out the response on " Oscar marvels" if you are that interested in my whereabouts.

FYI; Not a 1901er just a standard season ticket holder who has not missed a home game this century.
