Gregory: Finishing was the difference as Crawley end losing streak

Boss John Gregory highlighted Crawley's clinical finishing as the major factor in ending their six-game losing streak at MK Dons.

Andy Drury gave Reds an early lead and Mike Jones doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time with what was their only two shots on target of the whole match.

Gregory said: "We spoke about it in the dressing room afterwards. Andy had a chance and scored whereas we have got in those situations many times in the previous six games and not taken those chances.

"Today we had two clear cut chances and scored them both. That was the difference. There have been some good team performances recently but we have not got the results as we have not taken the opportunities.

"Once we got 2-0 ahead we had something to build on and there was only one team going to win after that. We played very professionally for the rest of the game and didn't chase a third or fourth goal."

The result means Crawley now have a six-point cushion above the relegation zone and another victory over Tranmere at home on Tuesday would virtually guarantee their safety.

Gregory added: "It gives us a bit of breathing space but I don't just want one win, I want four or five more wins.

"We want to finish the season as strongly as we can."
