SOLLY March has plotted a central role in Albion’s future and a place in the play-offs with ten more points.

The teenager, pictured right, fresh from signing a new four-year contract, played as an attacking central midfielder for the first time at the Amex in the 3-0 win against Charlton.

He was switched into the role from the wing in last Tuesday’s 4-1 win at leaders Leicester and boss Oscar Garcia kept faith in him pulling the strings.

March, 19, told The Argus: “I enjoy it. I probably get more of the ball which is good for me, trying to affect the game more. Hopefully in the future that can be more my role. When I’ve played more games I think that is going to be the position for the rest of my career. I’ve played right, left, midfield, but I think No. 10 is my position.”

Albion’s convincing victory has lifted them to sixth and put the pressure on Reading, one point adrift with tonight’s game in hand at home to Leicester.

March said: “It turned out to be a comfortable win. We are in the play-offs now and hopefully Reading can do us a favour.

“I think if we can get ten points from the next four games that could be us in the play-offs. Hopefully we’ve got the squad to do it.”

Albion go to Huddersfield on Good Friday, host Blackpool on Easter Monday, then entertain Yeovil and finish at Nottingham Forest, with March looking forward to a bright, long-term future.

“It’s exciting,” he said. “I’ve secured for the next four years. Hopefully it can bring good times for me and the club. It was an easy decision. My family’s here, it’s my local club and it’s going places with the new training ground.”
