Ed Joyce says Mark Robinson has it in him to be the new England coach.
The ECB are looking to fill the gap left after Andy Flower quit in January and a national newspaper has reported the Sussex coach will be interviewed this week for the position.
Sussex skipper Joyce reckons Robinson has got all the qualities to be a success.
Joyce said: “He reads the game very well, is never too up or too down, is a good man manager and is the best coach I have played under in county cricket.
“He would bring a lot to any England role, be it full coach or assistant. Part of me hopes he does not get the job because we’d love him to stay at Sussex but I think he definitely has got it in him.”
