Crawley to offer Bulman deal
Dannie Bulman has been told he will be offered a new deal with Crawley Town.
The long-serving Bulman is one of a number of players who are out-of-contract at the Checkatrade.com Stadium at the end of the season.
But the 35-year-old revealed after yesterday’s 2-1 win at home to third-placed Leyton Orient that Crawley want to keep him.
He said: “The gaffer has said to me I will be offered a deal so we will see what he is going to say and go from there.”
Bulman moved joint tenth on Crawley’s list of all-time appearance makers when he made his 315th outing for the club against Orient.
Goals from on-loan Swansea winger Gwion Edwards, with his second in as many games on his full debut, and Andy Drury consolidated 12th position in League One and in doing so ended Orient’s outside hopes of pipping Brentford to automatic promotion.
It was a third successive win for the Reds after beating MK Dons and Tranmere in the previous six days.
Bulman said: “The momentum and confidence is flowing at the moment so long may it continue.
“We want to finish on a high, finish as high as we can and go away with a smile on our faces in the summer.
“The gaffer is very stubborn, very driven and he wants us to kick on and get Crawley as high as possible.”
Crawley go to Notts County on Monday knowing a win could lift them as high as ninth, depending on other results.
Gregory added: “Richie (Barker) took this club to tenth position in League One. It is the highest league position Crawley have ever been to.
“That is always a carrot for us to try to get above that position but we just want to finish as well as we can.”
