Buckley could start for Albion but Upson is a doubt

Player of the season favourite Matt Upson is a doubt for Albion

First published in Sport by , Chief sports reporter

Will Buckley could make his first start for four weeks for Albion against Yeovil at the Amex tonight.

But Matt Upson is an injury doubt for the clash crucial to the Seagulls' hopes of making the play-offs.

Buckley played the second half of Monday's 1-1 home draw with Blackpool.

It was the winger's first appearance since he was forced off with a recurrence of hamstring trouble in the first half of the home defeat by Middlesbrough on March 29.

Upson played against Blackpool after missing the Good Friday draw at Huddersfield. Albion will make a late decision on the 35-year-old former England centre-half.

Lewis Dunk is on standby for his first home appearance since the 2-0 win against QPR on March 11.

A fun article about how the leagues will finish based on how Football Manager sees it. This will be more than familiar to many on here, I suspect!

Alas it sees us missing out on the play-offs to Forest.

We need goals tonight so lets just go for it.
Leo, Lingard, CMS, Buckley, Lua Lua.
All on from the start, lets score some goals at home for a change!
Take the game to Yeovil, attack, attack, attack
If we don't score a bucket load and Reading draw tomorrow we will be pig sick.
4 or 5 - 0

And who is going to be our solitary (and overworked) midfielder?

I think you can call THREE of them midfielders :-) CMS is no more a midfielder than Ward is a striker, even though they have both done it on occasion.

I would play Ulloa as the focal point, with Lingard JUST behind him, LuaLua and Buckley on the wings (for the five minutes they can manage together before one of them pulls a hamstring!), Stephens playing in a central attacking role with Andrews or Ince covering, and both full backs pushing on allowing Buckly/LuaLua to move inside and support Ulloa/Lingard if necessary.

And that comes with a money-back guarantee :-)

Of course your right Arnie ,and i agree with your set up ,i was thinking back to when CMS played slightly behind AB ,hoping to get the sort of assists that Heskey laid on for his team mates at Villa ,England ,in fact as i am sure you recall ,we looked at getting Heskey at one point ,hence the temporary forward MF role that CMS adopted for a short while .
