Albion are back in the top six – after surviving a nervous night at the Amex, The Seagulls confirmed Yeovil’s relegation by beating them 2-0 with goals from Kazenga LuaLua and Jesse Lingard.

But the Glovers made them work for the coveted points.

LuaLua made the breakthrough with a touch of fortune on 78 minutes.

The substitute cut in from the left wing and crossed looking for Leo Ulloa’s run.

But the ball beat everyone and bounced inside the far post to ease the mounting tension among most of a crowd of 26,901.

Lingard swept home the second deep in added time from a low cut-back by Solly March.

Andrea Orlandi, making a surprise return to the starting line-up, played some good stuff but also missed the Seagulls’ two best chances of the first half.

Marek Stech pushed a close-range header from Ulloa over in the second.

But Albion also had scares, notably in the first half.

Ruben Palazuelos fired a drive on to the bar and Lewis Dunk had to cover near his own goal-line when Jamie McAllister’s free-kick into the box eluded everyone, notably outcoming goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

It's going to be a nerve wracking afternoon tomorrow.

Good, solid performance by the Albion, could've scored more but I hippie Stephens is okay.

Plus another clean sheet for my boy. #teamdunkmafia

Just got back. Crowd well up for it and team started well but then showed lack if quality and invention. How can we be in this position? Poor league.

I said it would be an easy home win.

Good battling performance - much improved on Monday. We've missed Orlandi (although the less said about his misses tonight the better!). Yeovil weren't bad at all and contributed to a decent attacking game.

Not the best of games but the result is what counts! Dunk had a good game, saved our skin at one point when even TK made a horlicks of it! Should cheer up ringtone!
Slow and predictable most of the first half, picked up a bit second, it's all down to tomorrow! UTA

Considering what a win meant to Brighton, I am not surprised that a few nerves were jangling, both on the field and on the terraces, it will be the same for Reading toorrow. The good thing is we have won our game, the Reading now have to go to bed with added pressure on them.

Yep, the players did all the could tonight. I enjoyed it but one of my kids found the last ten minutes excruciating and jumped off the sofa when Lingard scored :-)

Another game where we had so much possession yet could only score one goal in normal time against a side that are now relegated, after the first goal when Yeovil had to come at us March was brought on rather than Smith, then when Lau was allowed on Buckley was taken off, what a treat we missed having these two on together,it made clear we we just going to run down the time.
