Kazenga LuaLua tangles with the Yeovil defence

First published in Sport by

Albion have piled the pressure on their play-off rivals.

But what did you make of the performance which saw them beat Yeovil 2-0?

Did they cope expertly with a nervous occasion, stick to their footballing ideas and get their reward?

Or as it a case of getting lucky after stuttering against the bottom team in the table?

How are you feeling NOW about their top-six chances?

We’d love to get your reaction to a memorable night at the Amex.

Ringtone, an England call up for Solly is a nice thought, but probably too soon in his development. We don't want him to peak too soon.

Absolute nonsense; very poor is playing in league 2 against Barnet and losing at Gillingham, or struggling at the Withdean.against poor sides.
Some people don't know how good they have it at the moment, such short memories and so fickle.
We played some good stuff tonight until we got into the box where we missed a hatful of chances, that needs improving but do not tell me the players and the football we play is very poor because that is just showing a lack of history and perspective.
Once again we have the opportunity of the play-offs- for goodness sake enjoy it, or you may as well give up now.

23 attempts at goal. If that's poor then I can't wait for us to become half decent.

I have to say in my opinion that Brighton have done extremely well, considering what has accrued over the whole season.
Lets not complain on how we have achieved our position today, with the quality of football played.
Because we all want the same, if we are true supporters of Brighton & Hove Albion. Yes we want to play like Barcelona or Spain, win every game 4-0, but we are Brighton, Sussex by the Sea.
We have to accept that results don't lie & we in 6 place, this is an exceptional achievement, considering money spent. Even if we don't make the play-offs or promotion this season. I for one would like to congratulate Tony, Oscar,& Team, backroom staff, & all involved.

It has been a long time since we expats have had the chance to watch online, or at least it has been for me, and I was pleased with most of what I saw.

Most of our passing was forward and we certainly had the right attitude, I liked how we quickly fought to get the ball back when losing possesion. We had two excelent chances to score, both fell Orlandi, but both were wasted, I put that down to Orlandi being ring rusty. We had quite a few chances, and I always thought we would score, but I thought we should have had at least one by half time.

I have to give credit to Yoevil, they certainly didn't look like a team rooted at the bottom of the table. I thought, their, Hoskins looked quite good.

Yes Dunk had a good game, he wins a lot of defensive headers, if only he, and the other members of the back four, could do the same up front. I think he saw the error TK was destined for even before TK was aware of the error, Dunk took up a good position on the goal line.

Hard to admire Ayling to the point of signing him based on just this one game that I have seen him play in, did he just have a good night, or has he played that well all season, hard to tell.

Yeovil have been playing decent football all season, if you've watched any of the league highlights you'll have seen that, they've just had the same amount as luck as me with a lottery ticket. They're not the rubbish a lot of you seem to think they are, with the addition of one or two players they'll be up for promotion again next season. The reason the away games are easier/attractive is home teams don't pack their defense, so we have more space.
As for support dwindling next year, if it's only people like you who stay away the other 25,000+ of us won't really miss you.

Meanwhile - Donny to stuff Reading then Barnsie to put the final nail in their coffin next week and then our real journey to the promised land starts.
Just one win away from the mini league and glory-----this could be the best summer for years.

Feel the score flattered us last night. Yeovil came to play and we were on the back foot for most of the game as we let them play their game. After all the talk about a fast start and taking the game to them - we were as ineffective against Yeovil as we had been against Blackpool. The team did know we had to win - right?

Too many squandered and missed chances and too many passes in the box just looking for the "perfect, killer touch" when all it needs is for someone to put his foot through the ball and hit the target. Then, that has been the fact all season so no wonder there was no change last night.

Obviously, the goals and three points are very welcome but for 80 minutes yesterday the performance wasn't good enough. It will all count for nothing as I predict results will not go our way over the weekend. It will hurt to miss the playoffs but maybe it will be the catalyst for some wholesale changes in the team.

Next season needs to be a whole lot better - more intensity going forward, greater pace when attacking, better use of dead ball situations and commitment for 90 minutes each week.

I thought the crowd lifted our players throughout the game and they responded. The criticism of Orlandi is not justified he hasn't been on the pitch much and the 2 chances he had were not easy..and he tried as did the whole team. They did fight to regain possession of the ball, they did attack and they did shoot at goal, which I think is a failing of the team. But I am not complaining because they played well and we helped them do that. In November we could only dream we would be where we are now. I have enjoyed the season don't think promotion would favour us right now because if we want to keep OG then he needs a bit more experience of English football. l also enjoyed the applause given to Yeovil as they came off the pitch which showed what is good in football, I hope it was captured by SKY which is a good advert for the Seagulls team and fans. Looking forward to next season wherever we may be. UTA

Like many of the home games this season we could have taken at least one of our chances in the first half. That said the team got the result, which is what matters.
Unfortunately we are now relying on other teams dropping points and a 'must win' last game at Forest.
We are in good form though, 3 wins and two draws in 5 games.
As I have said before, this is Brighton and Hove Albion, don't expect anything other than a 'nail biting' finish.

For me, Vegas, not a player you have to see more than once. Clubs miss out on players because they prevaricate. This chap can play. Keep an eye on him - just hope we are.
