Mikkel Michelsen has apologised to Eastbourne fans for a poor away showing.
Eagles lost 49-41 at Leicester having gone into the last three heats on levels terms.
Leicester moved ahead with a 5-1 in heat 13 for Jason Doyle and Nick Morris over Michelsen and Bjarne Pedersen.
They then ensured they took three points – and left Eagles with none - when Doyle and Mads Korneliussen finished ahead of Pedersen and Joonas Kylmakorpi in heat 15.
Michelsen tweeted: "Pathetic performance tonight! Nothing to do about it, sorry for letting you down @EliteEagles - Thanks to the fans that came up.”
It was the young Dane's first meeting as a heat leader after new averages come into effect.
Steve Worrall, the Swindon rider guesting for unavailable Lewis Blackbird, won both reserve races on his way to paid-11 for Eagles.
Leicester: Korneliussen 13+1 (5), Doyle 11+2 (5), Stead 9 (4), Morris 6+2 (4), Perry 4+1 (5), Ljung 3 (4), Clegg 3+1.
Eagles: Worrall 10+1 (5), Pedersen 9 (5), Kylmakorpi 7 (5), Woodward 5+1 (4), Lahti 5 (4), Michelsen 3+1 (4), Halsey 3+1 (3).
