Bruno: We've given it everything in play-off quest

Bruno has hailed Albion’s efforts in taking the play-off race the full distance.

And he has highlighted the mature efforts of their young stars in keeping them in the hunt.

The Seagulls, who visit Nottingham Forest on Saturday, need to pick up more points than sixth-placed Reading on the final day of the season to leapfrog them in the Championship table.

That would almost certainly secure a play-off berth, although there is an unlikely scenario whereby Blackburn could nick sixth place.

Bruno, scorer of a potentially vital equaliser in Albion’s last away game at Huddersfield, said: “We deserve a lot of credit to be where we are.

“We had important players ruled out, we have used young players who have had great responsibility playing in parts of the pitch where matches are decided.

“They have had responsibility which, at their age, they shouldn’t have. Caskey (Jake Forster-Caskey), Jesse (Lingard), Solly (March).

“We have exceeded expectations. We are giving it 100%. We have never let that level slip. In this division it is very hard to remain consistent.

“But we have always given it everything. We have always been in the upper part of the table and that is very difficult to do.”

Forest defender Greg Halford has until 6pm today to respond to an FA charge of misconduct after an incident in last Saturday 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth, in which he scored.

We'll be there at the City Ground cheering the boys on. Will be happy to end with a win, and if the play-offs end up just out of reach, so be it. Considering the obstacles Oscar has had to negotiate this season, even 7th or 8th can be considered an achievement and the future if bright.
Give us a B!

Top 6 would be an over - achievement given the resources and circumstances Oscar has been given so a massive well done. Stats show we are a better side away from home so the pressure is on Reading IF Sean Dyche can keep Burnley from slipping into beach-mode.

The team has indeed exceeded expectations considering all the problems and constraints this year.

Last game - or at most another four to go.......

Can't get to Forest on Saturday but heard the game might be live on telly. Anyone know anything for sure?
Been a great season. Oscar has done well. We knew Hoskins wouldn't play all season so we've no idea how he will really perform at this level next year. Hope he recovers properly over the summer and shows us what he can do.

The current total 69 points would have been more than enough last season as Leicester reached the play-offs on 68 so OG has done well. If we win and still don't reach the play offs on 72 that would be unusual.

So if we win I think we'll do it as history is on our side. What was the highest total points without reaching the play-offs?

Win, Lose or draw on saturday, this has been a good year when all things are taken into consideration. For Oscar, I think it has been a very good start, he kept all the plates spinning, even when it looked like a bunch were about to drop.
No matter what division we play in next season, the transfer dealings will be interesting, both in and out.

It should be 22C out here on Saturday lunchtime so I think I'll watch the stream on my tablet with a beer by the pool, rather than try to find a pub/bar showing it.

Fingers crossed for Hoskins, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is released now, or maybe retained on a very short contract to see how he goes. CMS will come good though, providing he has fully healed.
