Who was top man at Forest?

The Argus: Assistant boss Nathan Jones celebrates - but who was top player? Assistant boss Nathan Jones celebrates - but who was top player?

The result will long be remembered. So will the goals.

And so too might be the celebrations currently going on in Nottingham and on the way home once a few heads have cleared.

The performance? Much of that has possibly been forgotten already.

Albion ground out a result when they were not at their best.

But who was your Seagulls man of the match at the City Ground today?

Stephen Ward by a country mile.
Good defending, great support work down the left wing and a great finish to instill belief when we looked as if we had none.
A full back who can score goals is a real bonus and his "never give up" attitude
sets a fantastic example to those around him.

We need to get Ward signed for next season. He's worth the investment. Most improved player this season for us.

None of the names listed merit the title "man of the match"; that award should be given to the travelling fans who were immense. They sung the Forest fans into abject submission and practically total silence - even for the period in which they were winning. I managed to get into the East stand and was staggered to see the Forest fans around me applaud the Seagulls off the pitch after the final celebrations so all credit to them too. Just a final passing thought : Why was this match shown as "all ticket and sold out on the NFFC web site? There were 7000 empty seats and I reckon we could have filled quite a few... Well done to everyone concerned. Magic. Onwards, upwards, UTA !!!

Yes good point.

Albion should have been allocated the whole of the stand, probably 5.000 fans.

Forest would get more money a for few extra police and stewards, crazy.

The East Stand? Blimey! it aint been called that for decades lol. I take it you mean the Brian Clough Stand? Anyway, enough of my pedanticness. In fairness the game itself was nothing spectacular and i suspect there were more than a few nerves running through the Brighton side. Your support was amazing though and for that i give you the utmost credit and respect.
The ticket situation is one i couldnt fathom out either as an home supporter, i too had difficulty in obtaining a decent seat in the home stands, as most of the ground was showing up as unavailable. So heres me thinking it would be a sell out but we ended up sitting virtually on our own in a big blob of empty seats.
Anyway, good luck to BHA in the play-offs. You know you will have all of the red side of Nottingham supporting you don't you. Forest til I Die!
