Derby could leave two England under-21 stars on the bench as they aim to end Albion’s play-off dreams.

Midfielder Will Hughes and striker Patrick Bamford are both expected to figure among the substitutes for tomorrow’s semi-final first leg at the Amex.

Bamford came off the bench to beat Albion with his first goal for the Rams in January and has netted a further seven times during his stint on loan from Chelsea.

Boss Steve McClaren rang the changes for Derby’s season-ending 1-1 draw at Leeds on Saturday.

Former Albion left-back Wayne Bridge has announced his retirement. Bridge was one of five players released by Reading yesterday as the fall-out of their failure to reach the play-offs kicks in.

Bad luck Bridgey - as good a left back (albeit for one season) that we have ever had. Has also to be said though that Ward is pushing him close.

Good luck to Bridge. it seems incredible that he has retired only a year after a fantastic season with Brighton when he was nearly ever-present. Clearly we got the best out of him. Ward has been a fantastic replacement, and I hope we can secure him for the future.
Back to the thread, we will have 1 or 2 useful subs on our bench too.

Shame to here Wayne has retired great player for us last season, but in ward we have a ideal replacement at left back not as injury prone as Wayne, just hope wolves want to sell him and we sign him permanently, good defender and gets the odd important goal for us!!

Up the Albion!!!!

I think if we go up, our offer for Ward will be too good for Wolves to refuse.

Wishful thinking, me thinks.
I cant really see McClaren getting this far this season and then going into a play-off with a weakened side.
Whichever team he fields, you can be assured it will be what he considers to be the best at his disposal.
We just need a bit of self belief, a positive approach and a little bit of luck.

All this conjecture.
Let's just wait and see what happens and try and influence the result by giving the lads all the support we can, and more. We are the twelfth man. UTA

"Boss Steve McClaren rang the changes for Derby’s season-ending 1-1 draw at Leeds on Saturday."

I don't think the side he put out at Leeds will have any bearing on the side he puts out tomorrow night. Derby were guaranteed 3rd place whatever their result at Leeds, so he obviously wasn't going to put out a full side and risk injury to regular first-teamers.
